I've been skeptical of these little starter kits since they first came out. But then spring came around and I knew I had to jumpstart something that had been sitting dormant for a while. The day this unit came out, I woke my lawn mower up from hibernation. So I took it out of the box, it had about 75% charge, plugged it in and bam, my tractor started up in no time. I've used it for other purposes four or five times since then, and it's still fully charged, just like when I first unboxed it. I've been pleasantly surprised at how well this unit works.

We were looking for a jump starter that was powerful enough and reasonably priced and this product fit the bill perfectly. We charged it for about a half hour before first use and it was fully charged. It started a Ford Explorer in less than 5 minutes. The first 4.5 minutes was due to user error. I checked after starting and it was still fully charged. It is small enough to keep in the car and powerful enough that I never have to worry about being stranded with a dead battery.

The only improvement I would suggest is to make the battery cord a little longer. Sometimes it is not easy to access the battery. If the battery was completely exposed it would be great. When the first charger arrived we charged it but it didn't work. They sent us a replacement charger which arrived very quickly. The second charger works great. The first impression, even upon touching it, is one of quality: solid construction, smooth seams, tight tolerances on joints, etc. Months later, I still have that impression. I bought it and kept it in my car just in case: I returned to my car, parked in a parking lot at the entrance to a hiking trail, it was already dark, I was still out of cell phone range, and my car battery was dead. Which brings me to my only negative: the instructions were written by someone whose first language was clearly not English. This is not racial bias or "buy in the USA only" or any other trivial nonsense. It is because the instructions in the manual must be read carefully to be understood. Related to this, some of the instructions printed on the connector terminal assembly are printed in very small print, some white on black and some red on black. The red on black at the trailhead will be unreadable if the headlamp/flashlight battery is dead. Also, the instructions are difficult to understand in terms of language. All of this suggests that it is a good idea to try it a few times at home. You don't want to stress out reading and interpreting the instructions the first time. For those who have taken the starter out and found it doesn't work, I suspect, based on the percentage of 1 star reviews, that they were just unlucky. This is a complex product and there is no perfect manufacturing process.

had to jump start the car with a dead battery. The instructions were simple and easy to follow. I had the car jump started in no time. The green LED lights up when the connector is properly connected, which is reassuring. A few days later the car wouldn't start and this charger didn't seem to work. However, it turned out that the connector cable plug wasn't fully inserted into the charger. After discovering this and fixing it, the car started again and we went out and bought a new battery. So make sure the cable is fully inserted and you'll be fine. I just hope it came with a box!

We fully charged a 1993 Lincoln Town Car with a dead battery in 5 seconds. It started instantly. It was too far away to reach with an extension cord. This charger is great for inclement weather. I had no issues with the cord or the unit in the pouring rain…we thought it would die after use and need a full charge, but the light came on indicating it was ready to use again. It is much lighter and more portable than a giant battery charger. It only charges via USB, which I don't like, but we have an AC/DC converter to plug into an outlet. It works great! have a used 2016 Subaru Forester. It's a well made car, but it's not foolproof and all batteries fail after a certain number of years of inactivity. I have to admit that I'm a little nervous about car maintenance and repairs, but I'm more afraid of breaking down somewhere and not being able to start the car myself. Well, I've used it about five times now and it works exactly as described, but 1500 watts is just not enough power. On a full size sedan, you need two jump starters to start the car, and they only start at 50% power or so. That means you're basically only getting one start per charge, and if the battery is completely dead, you'll have to charge twice to start the car, which isn't ideal on the road. Just use 4000 watts.

This is awesome! My car is always breaking down, especially in winter, but this has saved me several times. I am very happy with its compactness and longevity.

bought 4 of these as gifts for family members to put in their cars. Based on the performance described, I was impressed with the price. I have yet to hear of anyone using it, so I can only go by this company and other reviewers' opinions at this point, but they seem to be good units for the money. I have one of the better brands you see here, but I bought it on sale. This one doesn't seem as durable, but I recommend everyone keep it in the case and only take it out to charge or when needed. It gives you peace of mind knowing your loved ones are with you in case of an emergency. I really like that it not only gives off light, but it also has a flashlight, can charge phones, and even has emergency strobe lights in case you break down and need to warn other drivers to keep everyone safe. I also bought these on sale and would recommend keeping an eye out for deals as these items often go on sale. However, if someone's car broke down, they were a novice driver, or they were going on a long trip, I wouldn't hesitate to buy one right away at full price. It's always good to have essential tools and safety equipment in your car. You rarely need them, but if you do need them in an emergency, they come in handy.

My car battery is dead and I can't afford to buy a new one right now. If it gets cold at night, the battery will be dead by morning. That's why I ordered this device, so I don't have to call someone to jump start my car. It works great! It's very easy to use: just plug it into the starter, connect the battery and off you go! It starts instantly and I have to say I will always have it in my car in case of an emergency.
