2 and 5 year old take turns. Both my 2 and 5 year old get excited when I get this out of the cupboard. It is loud so I don't let them access it freely but it will hold their attention for a good hour and after the first few times of arguing about the turnaround, they now take turns well. The 5 year old likes to try and hit his peak and he now has over 100. The 2 year old is happy that it comes with 2 soft hammers because he just wants to hit things.

Still in one piece after a few weeks with my 2 year old. This was a gift for my 2 year old. I'm not sure he's ready to understand the game, but it seems like he's still having fun just banging on the device for a while. This is probably a toy for an older child, and I doubt it will interest 7 or 8 year olds, so the stated age range may need to be revised. The product is perhaps a little expensive for what it offers, but it still holds together after being smashed by my child, which is good enough for me.

Cute game. The grandkids and my husband really like this toy. My only complaint is that the cushion part of the hammer comes off too easily and it's really hard to put it back on. Other than that, it seems pretty sturdy.

looks great. I gave this to my grandson in a few months. I opened it up to test it. The two hammers have a hard handle and the ends are soft rubber. You have to put 3 AA batteries in them which the description says are not included. It is lightweight and seems well made. Above in the description it says 8 for 2 and further down 10 for 3. For children under 3 I would be cautious with the hammer handles, they are still young and clumsy at times but everyone knows their kids so just be careful.

Great gift. This was a win win for our 2 year old grandson and he has a blast with it. The other grandchildren ages 5, 6, 7, 8 and 10 have fun with it too. They are competitive and since it keeps score they try to beat the high score. Great entertainment for kids and the volume can be turned off, quiet or loud which is a plus in my opinion! Intrusive, but worth every minute my boys are occupied without me. This thing is loud. The kids bang on it loudly and it makes loud noises and squawks. The kids use the rubber mallets to bang on everything EXCEPT the actual toy. This is definitely not what you want to hear when you're already dealing with sensory overload. Still, it keeps my 10 month old and 2.5 year old entertained for a full half hour each, so it's totally worth the effort.

This game is for ages 3 and up, but we bought it for our 16 month old grandson. He seems a bit young to understand the concept of randomly following the light up frogs around the board. He enjoys hitting them when they light up, the challenge is the concentration required. I feel like he will grow into the game over the next few months and it will help his development. Super fun game for everyone!! This is a great gift for any child. My 4 year old loved it and so did his older siblings, dad, godmother, etc. Everyone who tried it with him wanted to keep playing to increase their score. I would definitely recommend it. Good gift for a 4 year old boy and his family. The whole family played with it, there were different difficulty levels for different ages. The youngest could hit the frogs and the oldest grandpa could speed it up and kind of play with both hands. Had to look for batteries so don't forget to have some AA batteries on hand.

Needs shipping box! Product seems good, it's for a 3 year old boy so it will probably be broken soon, they are rough… only issue I had was shipping, they didn't put it in a shipping box, they just shipped it in the original packaging, the first one was flat as a pancake so I sent that back and reordered, it arrived the same, it was a birthday gift and since it wasn't in a shipping box the kid saw it so I had to give it to him… needs a shipping box!!

Great interactive game! I bought this for my nephew's 2nd birthday. He's too young to be able to keep hitting the light up frogs, but he still loved it and got the hang of it quickly. It even has suction cups so you can hang it on the fridge or something. They're not the strongest suction cups though. As long as it's a clean surface, it'll probably hold up fine. The hammers are rubber, so I wouldn't worry too much when the kid inevitably tries to hit something else with them.

Perfect for active kids! Bought for a 1.5 year old and he loves it! Kept him busy for 2 hours in a doctor's office waiting room. It has different play settings and volume settings. Frogs light up and it makes different sounds and plays a whole bunch of different songs. I think it's the perfect gift because green and frogs can be gender neutral and the lights keep a little baby entertained while the counting function and play modes are good for older toddlers. Cute game, but I'm not sure it will hold up to constant use. The game is cute. But if all the frogs aren't hit correctly, the game tells the child what a pity that is. This is wrong. It's a game for fun, not to shame the child for not completing the task. Also, when you start hitting the frogs, the music stops. So you either listen to the music or hit the frogs. It has to be a combination of both.

No high speed rounds when you level up. Well made, durable, cute, ALMOST like the carnival version that my 4 and 7 year olds love. I gave it 4 stars not because it doesn't work properly, I just think the company made a mistake in saying it could be used by older kids too! I originally thought it would be like the original. By original I mean if you hit a certain number of frogs you get to the next level. The next level would be faster as the frogs light up so the kid is challenged with each level. It all stays at one speed which is slow lol which is fine for 4 year olds and under as they are still really working on hand eye coordination. But for my 7 year old it is a breeze and she beats her high score every time over her brother's lower score. I will say though that it does have an option for dueling players and that makes it fun for the kids and challenging for my older daughter. Still the same speed but now you have to hit two frogs at once lol and that becomes challenging because it's hard for my daughter to work together and also work with her brother lol. So both learn and 4 stars because I just hope it offers more challenges. But overall a great gift and I would recommend it to any of my friends or family.

Game with dexterity bonus. I bought this game for my three year old son. He has a wooden peg toy with a similar concept that he enjoys and I thought this game would build on the same concept while also developing fine motor skills, hand eye coordination and patience with the added lights and sounds this game offers. At three, my son sometimes has trouble keeping up with the pace of the game and can get frustrated, so I'm not sure I would recommend it to someone younger unless he just enjoys hitting frogs for fun and with no regard for the game like my one year old does when he's around. The toy comes with 2 plastic hammers and 2 volume settings. The sound can get a little annoying at times but I find it's appropriate for the type of game.

Great fun! Bought this for my grandson's 2nd birthday and he loved it, as did his 11 year old brother. He played with it for so long we had to take it away from him so he could open his other presents. As he is only 2 he is not particularly precise but that did not spoil the fun. No shipping packaging. Cute game. The main reason I'm only giving 4 stars is because of the way the game was shipped to me. It wasn't packaged in a packing box for protection. Instead, there was a shipping label taped to the box and since it didn't have a packing box to protect it during shipping, it was a bit battered upon arrival. This is a gift and wasn't the presentation I wanted. That being said, I'm sure the game will be fun. Time will tell how durable the pieces are.

Hammer could be better. Could be a fun game. My only complaint is that the part of the hammer that hits the frog is made of soft material that gives way on contact. You have to hit the hammer really hard for it to work. You're better off using your hand.

I've had to hide the hammers because he just hits them the way they land, which is usually with the white part. It's very loud and I'm always afraid he'll break it. SO much fun I was skeptical about this Whack a Frog but my grandchildren love it, especially the 5.5 year old. I have to admit, their parents and my husband and I like it too. It's very sturdy and well made and I especially like that the soundtrack on it says "too bad" when a player doesn't do particularly well, which is refreshing. It's the kind of toy they played with a lot at first and now only every now and then, but I think it will win out over some of their other toys in the long run. A player only gets points when they hit a light up frog, so it requires a bit of effort and hand eye coordination. Highly recommend!

Buy it and the kids will be entertained. The package arrived in pristine condition. Inside the box were two rubber mallets and a bright green frog whacking game. I bought it for my babysitting job. Boys especially enjoyed it. The toy has two different levels. In the first level, only one frog lights up at a time. In the second level, several frogs light up at once. The frogs can be hit hard with the rubber mallet and they won't break. Plus, there's a counter to count how many frogs are hit. I haven't tried the different songs in the game yet. However, you can turn the music on or off depending on whether the kids want to sing along or not. The little ones were pretty well entertained. I would recommend it.

The three year old started playing with it immediately. Great for a very active child. Gift for a three year old. And his almost one year old sister loved it too. She was fascinated by the many different sounds.

Such a fun game. You can also play with your hands. The girls are soft and safe for children. The little ones didn't want to share their girls though, so we used our hands sometimes. The kids get the hang of it quickly. Lots of fun. The fast shipping was great.

Cute, but… The idea of the game is adorable. The colors and sounds are fun. But the hammer you get to hit the frogs is not strong enough unless the child is older. We found it easier to use our hands instead of the hammer.

Great fun for everyone. I gave this toy to my grandson for his 3rd birthday. It was a huge hit with the 3 year old, his parents and his grandparents. We had so much fun playing together. The adults competed with each other and the 3 year old just had fun hitting the frogs. After all, who wouldn't want to take out their frustration on a light up frog? It's very sturdy and can be played with by a variety of ages.

Great for hand eye coordination and visual therapy. We had a lot of fun letting our frustrations out on this little "frog slapping" game. It's probably more for younger players under 7, but we were able to use it as part of my son's visual therapy. He has trouble with picture tracing, so this game helps him improve that issue and isn't as boring as his usual diagrams. We also enjoyed the challenges with the different levels, although it wasn't always clear what level we were on.
