This is really great. It is quiet to operate and the wide opening is a plus. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it doesn't have an on/off switch, so when you take the lid off to remove the bag, the lid always pops open and it's difficult to put it on the floor until you put the new bag in. Other than that, this is a great device and over time it will pay for itself.

I was excited but it took a while to get this update but their customer service was fantastic. They responded very quickly and I got replacements very quickly and now it has worked for several months with no issues. Originally I was excited, it worked exactly as described except when out of the blue it decided to stop working. It has been less than 4 months since I bought it and the sensor is not working as well or sometimes not working at all. This is really unfortunate.

Works so well. This product works extremely well. I had another one for 3 years and that worked well too! It probably would have lasted longer if the grandkids hadn't been playing with it.

The motor stopped working. I've had it since April 2023 and the motor stopped working. Replacing the batteries didn't work. I contacted support last week and got no response. Update: The manufacturer finally responded and told me to reset the motor. I wasn't sure how, but I just held down the button and a red light appeared. It's been working fine since then.

Nice addition to the kitchen. My only criticism of this can is that it has to be manually overridden in case the battery runs out. Ultimately, it is an excellent product and works perfectly. Handy when working with raw meat, poultry and fish.

It looks pretty good and I like that it has a very narrow depth. For the specific location of this trash can, as shallow a depth as possible is ideal. I don't use disposable batteries if I can avoid them. I put 6 rechargeable AA batteries in this thing and used adapters that replace a single D battery with 3 AA batteries.

Dog proof! This is our second trash can of this type. Our dog broke the sensor light with his nail after 2 years with our first trash can. These are the best because they are affordable, durable, hide the edge of the trash bag, and we can turn it off or lock it when our dogs are inside! The lid never slams shut.

Great can This trash can is exactly what I was looking for. It is made of stainless steel and has an automatic sensor opening. What I really like about this can is that the lid opening is actually quite wide. Many automatic can lids have a much smaller opening than the actual can, but this one goes almost to the edge. No more kittens trying to get to the trash!

After months of searching, we found the perfect, inexpensive trash can! Trash cans are WAY too expensive and our old one, although broken, still worked. But it was hard to clean and looked sad. Finally, I found this ROTTAY 13 gallon trash can with a black lid instead of a stainless steel lid and that's when it clicked! After a few months, I can say that it stays clean and has no nooks and crannies for crumbs or trash to collect. The bag is easy to replace and we've finally gotten used to the automatic opener. It does open when you get too close, but I think it just says "hello." I love this not very expensive trash can and expect it to last a long time.

MEH. For the money, the plastic rim that secures the bag was too flimsy and ripped in less than two weeks. It took the dog less than a minute to figure out how to trigger the sensor to open it and it's not a purchase I'm likely to make again for the money.

Touchless Trash can I never thought I'd say this. This trash can is great! It doesn't bang against the cabinet anymore because we don't have to touch it. The motion sensor isn't too sensitive so it doesn't open every time you go near it. It only takes 2 D batteries instead of 4 like others. It seems sturdy and easy to clean. Oh, and for half the price of some others that have the step feature. I would recommend this trash can if you're looking for an upgrade.

Good product. Does exactly what you would expect. I noticed in other reviewers' pictures that the bag was hanging out. You can tuck it back in to make it look a little better.

Annoying sensor. The motion sensor activates just by walking past it. I'm pretty sure my shadow activates it. Pretty annoying but I knew that from other reviews and I'll live with it. It arrived dented but I didn't want to send it back just for the next one from the shipping company to get a dent. I'm pretty sure it was the shipping company that dented it because it was packaged really well. I pushed the dent out and live with it because eventually someone in the house is going to run into it and dent it, kids.

WARRANTY UPDATE: Well, I finally got a response in early July and a replacement cover arrived on October 5th. I have tried contacting them multiple times over six weeks by phone and email about the automatic lid not working. To date, I have answered their questions and provided proof of purchase but have received NO response or answer. Just FYI, do your research before you buy.

Moving Trash can I love this trash can! I just have to walk past it or stand next to it and the lid opens. It's really great to have in the kitchen when you're cooking and have your hands full of things to throw away. I think the price was reasonable and it's actually a very nice looking trash can. It's very easy to put together. It's very sturdy and I use regular large kitchen bags which fit perfectly in it.

It meets the need to be out of sight and out of mind to combat my husband's OCD and has a lid that our dog can't reach or doesn't know how to open.

Compared to most others, it's a good price for its size and perfect for standard size trash bags. The top black rim and lid also keep the trash in place perfectly. Just a very good design! The only downside is what others have mentioned. The motion sensor is sensitive. This is either good or bad depending on where you put it. In a high traffic area, it opens and closes frequently. For us, it was supposed to go in a pantry, but since it always detects the side wall of the pantry cabinet, it just stays open the whole time. Not what I wanted, but not a deal breaker either. I thought it would have to detect motion, but more like: If it detects ANYTHING, it stays open. If it doesn't detect anything, it closes. An important nuance for people like me who might put it in a closed area like a pantry cabinet. Still, we like it a lot. We really feel we got our money's worth with this and it's significantly better than the one it replaced. We'd still buy it again, even with the nuance of motion detection in the lid. In fact, we might buy it for another room and maybe as a gift for some of our older kids next Christmas. So we're definitely happy with our purchase.

I've seen similar automatic trash cans cost hundreds so this little guy is a great buy and a great value. I haven't had any problems with it so far other than it popping open when people walk by but that's to be expected I guess. My 12 gallon trash bags fit perfectly in there and I love that it has a separate lip to hold the trash bag. It doesn't have a plastic liner inside like some of the more expensive trash cans but that doesn't bother me.

Works great. So far I have had no problems with this trash can. I have had a similar one from this brand. I like this one better. I think the opening of this trash can is wider. I don't like that it requires 2 D batteries and they are not included. I think these types of trash cans are expensive. This one is worth the money if you want to invest in one with a motion sensor. It works well and is very easy to use. Plus it is lightweight and looks good.

Does what it's supposed to. For the money, this is one of the better self opening trash cans on the market. It opens if you walk too close. I bought some rechargeable batteries for it. I would recommend it.

Fits really well in the small space I had for it. I live in a tiny house and thought I wouldn't have room for a regular sized trash can, but this one fits perfectly.

Good quality trash can. Good build quality. Easy to wipe down when cleaning. So far the sensor lid has worked perfectly even under very heavy use in our kitchen. Holds trash bags very well.

Pretty good. I wish I could change the sensitivity of the sensor. Every time we walk by it opens. Our pups are pretty smart too and have figured out they can open it just by getting closer. We're at the point where we just turn it off and open it ourselves. I also wish there was a foot pedal to open it if we want to just turn the sensors off.

What a game changing trash can. This is my first touchless motion sensor trash can. Compared to step on trash cans, this trash can is easy to place on a trash bag, holds more trash, and stays clean. Plus, for someone who can't walk normally, this is a game changing experience. I'm absolutely thrilled after using it.

great trash can, this is a great trash can, it just had a dent when I got it and it would be great if it was a little taller. But other than those few things I love it.

Nice The style of the trash can is very nice. I like the design with the hidden bag. The automatic opening feature is OK, sometimes I have to get really close to the trash can and wave my hand a few times. What I don't like is that the stainless steel body of the bucket is quite thin and flexible. It is very easy to accidentally dent it. So far so good though.

So practical! It opens and closes with one hand movement. Keeps odors inside! Good size for a one or two person household.

GREAT, GREAT, GREAT! This trash can is great! The lid opens quickly and closes in a few seconds. The lid stays open longer if needed…for example, to scrape food off a plate. Standard 50 litre kitchen trash bags fit easily inside. The retaining ring keeps the bag securely in place.

Works well. Attractive design. Exactly as described but super sensitive. Opens if you get closer than 30cm and is a bit noisy. We have 2 for garbage and recycling and you can't get close to one without the other opening.

Works fine after 2 years. I'm careful not to damage the outside but it works great. If it ever won't open I just replace the battery inside.

Nice trash can for the kitchen. The motion detection is very good. Just move your hand or trash object about 10cm above the sensor and it opens quickly. Stays open for a few seconds. Then it closes slowly. I also like the extra ring that holds the trash bag in place and prevents it from falling into the bin. I would definitely buy it again.

It's good, but small. It's a good trash can and the automatic lid works well. I would definitely have chosen a larger size if I didn't already have this one. It fills up quickly and there are only two of us using it.

Better than the first one I bought. This is the BEST automatic trash can. This is my second one in 6 months, the motor broke on my first one, different brand, and this one is the best so far! It stays open when it senses you are near, the other one didn't. Also, the lid slammed shut on my first purchase, this one is slow and steady!

Great trash can This trash can has a lot of good things going for it. It's very stylish, the sensor has been working fine for a month and it's the perfect shape and size. I've bought this trash can before in a different style and was very happy with it. So far so good!

Smaller than our original but I like how you can turn it off at the top. So far good, smaller than our original but not by much. 2 D cells reduces the number of batteries so a plus, nice finish but be careful when draining because the inserts get stuck and you can easily get dents in the case.

good for recycling, opens when you walk by. I like that it runs on D batteries, bought a couple of USB chargers for it. If you get within 3 4 inches of it, the sensor goes off. I'm thinking of 3D printing a small half cover so it only opens when I wave my hand near it. I use it for my recycling bin next to my existing trash can.

Less expensive to run The product works as advertised. The buzzing sound when opening is not very loud and it does not slam shut like some other bins. The D batteries are cost effective as it only requires 2 and the other brands require 4 C batteries. I am very happy with this design and it works just as well as my girlfriend's which she paid a lot more for. The price, lower running costs and smart design make this a 5 star product in my opinion. Who knew bins could be so attractive.

Works well. I bought one with a lid because there was no room for a wastepaper basket under the counter. This is a really nice wastepaper basket but a bit annoying for me because it opens every time I walk by. If you have a better place for it, you'll like it.
